Upcoming events:
March 22-26: Society for American Music annual meeting, Montreal. I’ll be chairing Session 1C: Modernism Revisited, 8:30-10:00 a.m. on Thursday, 23 March; co-chairing the Public Relations committee meeting Friday morning; and will be at the Scholar Meet-and-Greet sponsored by the SAM Student Forum on Friday or Saturday during the morning breaks–possibly both.
April 1: AMS-SW Spring meeting, Sam Houston State. I’ll be chairing a special open discussion on “Privilege” from 2:15-3:00 p.m.
April 20 & 21: Exploring the Renaissance 2017: An International Conference, Sponsored by the South-Central Renaissance Conference and Affiliates. I’ll be chairing the panel “Powerful Women in Shakespeare” on Thursday, April 20, at 1:45 p.m., and presenting “Shakespeare and Music in the ‘Silent’ Cinema” as part of the “Renaissance Plays on Stage and Screen” panel on Friday, April 21, at 10:00 a.m.
April 24: University of California-Santa Cruz Colloquium. I’ll be speaking on “Projection, Erasure, and Recovery: Women in Silent Film Music.”
June 10: I’ll be digitally presenting on“Shakespeare and Music in the ‘Silent’ Cinema” at the Representations of Early Music on Stage and Screen (REMOSS) conference at the University of Sheffield.
June 22-24: Shakespeare Theatre Conferences, Stratford, Ontario. I’ll be presenting “Shakespeare’s Second Lines” as part of a panel on Shakespeare and jazz chaired by Stephen Buhler.
