Protectress is one of Kirkus’s Top 100 Indie Books of the 2023

I am delighted to share that Protectress has been named one of Kirkus’s Top 100 Indie Books of 2023, and is one of just 7 books of poetry to make the list! Kirkus reviewed Protectress in January, ran an interview with me about it in April, and featured it in a round-up of myth-inspired books in September. Big thanks to Kirkus and to my publisher, Unsolicited Press, who took a chance on a novella in verse about Medusa and her sisters in the modern world, about confronting rape and rape culture, about gaining compassion, and about love and change and more.

A webpage. At the top, it says "Kirkus Reviews" and beneath that, "Best Indie Poetry of 2023." The first book listed is Protectress, showing the cover with the Kirkus star and a line from the review: "A clever, illuminating feminist take on Greek mythology."
